1. **AnyTrack Autotag** automatically adds unique `click_id` parameters to your affiliate links
2. **Parameter Forwarding** in Pretty Links passes these `click_id` parameters from your shortened link to the final destination URL
3. When a visitor clicks your Pretty Link, the `click_id` parameter travels with them to the affiliate network
4. The **affiliate network records** this `click_id` with the click data
5. When a conversion occurs, the **affiliate network sends a postback** with the `click_id` to AnyTrack
6. **AnyTrack matches the `click_id`** to track the exact source of the conversion
7. **AnyTrack sends conversion data** back to your ad platforms (Google, Facebook, etc.)

### Why Every Step Matters

This system is completely **interdependent** - if Parameter Forwarding is disabled:

* The `click_id` gets stripped away
* The affiliate network can't connect conversions to your traffic source
* AnyTrack loses the attribution chain
