# Click Loss

> Paid clicks that never reach their destination or are never recorded, typically because a browser blocks the redirect or tracking subdomain in the click path.

**Click loss** is paid clicks that never reach their destination or are never recorded — usually because a browser blocks the redirect or tracking subdomain in the click path. Every lost click is ad spend with nothing to show for it: no visitor delivered, no attribution collected.

## What causes click loss and how AnyTrack prevents it

The most common cause is [redirect-based tracking](/glossary/redirect-based-tracking): iOS Safari, Firefox, and privacy-focused browsers block the CNAME-cloaked subdomains that traditional trackers redirect through, so the visitor you paid for never arrives. AnyTrack's [redirectless tracking](/docs/redirectless-tracking) removes the redirect step entirely — there is no redirect to block — so the click is collected client-side by the [Tracking Tag](/glossary/tracking-tag) and attribution stays intact.

## What click loss means for each marketer

- **Affiliate marketer:** a blocked redirect means no recorded click and no possible postback.
- **eCommerce marketer:** visitors dropped between the ad and the store, widening the ad-vs-actual gap.
- **Lead-gen marketer:** the Click ID is never collected, so the lead can't be pushed back server-side.
- **Business owner:** spend that bought a click you can never see or attribute.
