# CPC

> Cost per click — the average ad spend paid for each click on an ad, calculated as ad spend divided by the number of clicks.

**CPC** (cost per click) is the average ad spend paid for each click on an ad — ad spend divided by the number of clicks. It prices the *traffic* a campaign buys, sitting between impression cost (CPM) and outcome cost (CPA) in the funnel.

## How AnyTrack reports CPC

CPC appears in the [Campaign Report](/docs/advanced-options-campaign-report#available-metrics) Performance metrics as `Total Ad Spend / Number of Clicks`, using spend and click data fetched from Meta Ads, Google Ads, and TikTok Ads.

## CPC vs CPM vs CPA vs Link Click

- [CPM](/glossary/cpm) — CPM charges per thousand impressions; CPC charges only when the ad is clicked.
- [CPA](/glossary/cpa) — CPA measures the cost of a conversion; many clicks (each costing a CPC) usually precede one acquisition.
- [Link Click](/glossary/link-click) — the click event CPC divides spend by; CPC is a cost, a link click is a count.
