# CPM

> Cost per mille — the cost of 1,000 ad impressions, calculated as ad spend divided by impressions, multiplied by 1,000.

**CPM** (cost per mille) is the cost of 1,000 ad impressions — ad spend divided by impressions, times 1,000. It prices ad *delivery* (how expensive it is to put your ad in front of people) independent of whether anyone clicks or converts, and is the base auction cost most platforms bill against.

## How AnyTrack reports CPM

CPM appears in the [Campaign Report](/docs/advanced-options-campaign-report#available-metrics) under the Performance metrics, computed as `Total Ad Spend / Number of Impressions × 1000` from the spend and impression data AnyTrack fetches from Meta Ads, Google Ads, and TikTok Ads.

## CPM vs CPC vs CPA vs Impression

- [CPC](/glossary/cpc) — CPC charges per click; CPM charges per thousand views regardless of clicks.
- [CPA](/glossary/cpa) — CPA is the cost of the final outcome; CPM is only the cost of being seen.
- [Impression](/glossary/impression) — the unit CPM is priced against: one impression is one display of your ad.
