# Dataset

> Meta's renamed Pixel — the container in Events Manager that receives a brand's events from every source, browser and server alike, under one ID.

A **Dataset** is Meta's 2024 rename of the Pixel: a single container in Events Manager that receives a brand's events from every source — the browser Pixel, the Conversion API (web), and the Conversion API for CRM. The name change reflects that the Pixel is now just one source feeding a shared container, not the whole story; the underlying ID is unchanged (your Pixel ID *is* your Dataset ID).

## Do not confuse with

- [Conversion API](/glossary/conversion-api) — the Dataset is the *container* that receives events; the Conversion API is one of the *pipes* (server-side) feeding it.
- [Events Manager](/glossary/events-manager) — the Dataset is the data container; Events Manager is the Meta interface used to view and manage it.

## In AnyTrack

When you connect Facebook Ads, AnyTrack links to your Meta Dataset and feeds it the right way: the Pixel fires only `PageView` (and sets the `_fbp` cookie and `fbclid`), while every conversion event is delivered server-side through the Conversion API. Browser events, server events, and CRM events all land in the same Dataset, deduplicated by a shared event ID.
