# Link Click

A **link click** is an ad-platform metric counting the number of times users clicked the link in an ad to leave for its destination. It is the platform's count of paid clicks an ad generated, and the basis for the platform's own click-through rate.

## How a link click relates to AnyTrack

In the [Campaign Report](/docs/advanced-options-campaign-report#available-metrics), Link Clicks are fetched from the ad platform (Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads) and describe clicks *on the ad*. They are different from the [`OutboundClick`](/glossary/click-id) event AnyTrack's Tracking Tag fires when a visitor clicks an outbound link *on your own site* — the ad-side link click brings a visitor to your page, while AnyTrack's outbound click tracks them leaving it for an offer or checkout.

## Link Click vs CPC

- [CPC](/glossary/cpc) — a link click is a count of actions; CPC is the average spend per one of those clicks.
