Ignored Sources

Ignored Sources Feature Overview
The last-click attribution model requires that intermediate sources don't overwrite UTM values from your ad platform's tracking template. Payment systems like PayPal and email platforms like Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign commonly overwrite ad identifiers, causing conversions to be attributed to those systems instead of your ads.
Use the Ignored Sources feature to prevent AnyTrack from counting values added by interfering sources. Keep attribution focused on your ads while continuing to use these systems normally.

Example Case
When a visitor clicks an email link from ActiveCampaign, that automation adds UTM values listing 'ActiveCampaign' as the traffic source. If that visitor converts, AnyTrack attributes the conversion to 'ActiveCampaign'. However, if the visitor is a returning customer who clicked an ad before, AnyTrack won't attribute the conversion to the original ad—it attributes it to 'ActiveCampaign' instead.
Use the Ignored Sources feature to attribute the conversion to the ad that acquired the returning customer. Add 'ActiveCampaign' to the Ignored Sources list so it won't overwrite ad campaign values, and conversions are correctly attributed to the original ad.
Implementation
Step 1: Identify the interfering source
Select the abnormal entry from the AnyTrack Campaign Report, click the pencil icon, and select View Conversions.
Click the event to open the Event Details window and locate the source.
Step 2: Add the source to the Ignored Sources list
Navigate to Property Settings, select the property, and open the Settings tab.
Scroll down to Attribution Settings and add the source to the ignored sources list. Press Enter to add multiple sources. Note: Source names are converted to lowercase (e.g., 'activecampaign' ignores 'ActiveCampaign').
Save your changes.
Immediate Changes for Future DataOnce you update your attribution setting the changes will apply immediately for future data. Any past data will remain unchanged.
