" deprecated: false hidden: true metadata: title: "" description: "" robots: index next: description: "
In this article, you'll learn how to use AnyTrack as a pixel tracking software, with a twist of Tag Management.
Good to know: We do not recommend using tracking pixels as they are not reliable (read below), but sometimes the platform you need to integrate with does not support server-side tracking (postback url, webhook, API).
Reminder about Pixel Tracking
Tracking conversions with tracking pixel is the most common method that has been used since the inception of the internet and online marketing.
Pixel tracking is done by adding piece of code on your "thank you page".
When visitor hit the thank you page, the tracking pixel loads and inform your tracking server that someone reached your desired goal / conversion.
While they are very simple to set up (usually a piece of code), they come with a number of limitations that make them unreliable.
- Blocked by Ad blockers
- Blocked by browser privacy restrictions
- Over reporting conversions when the thank you page refreshes
- They can be cached and be ignored
- Granular event data usually requires additional coding
- No support for cross device tracking
Tracking pixel setup guide
The AnyTrack base pixel must be in the head section of all pages where you want to fire conversions.
